NRC advocates for the rights of displaced populations and offers assistance within the shelter, education, emergency food security, legal assistance, and water, sanitation and hygiene sectors.

Duties and responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper fleet management and vehicle utilization at the area office
  • Ensure that assets are properly managed and tracked at the area office
  • Ensure proper management of inventory and documentation
  • Draft and submit end of month logistics reports to the line manager
  • Supervise and give guidance to the drivers

General Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures and donor requirements
  • Conduct and follow up daily operational logistic activities
  • Support in development of Standard Operating Procedures as requested
  • Ensure proper filing of all Logistics related documentation
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement of the logistic function
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in procurement/logistics or equivalent
  • Possession of CIPS qualification will be an added advantage
  • At least two years’ experience from working as a logistics officer; exposure in a humanitarian context is an advantage
  • Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal

  • Contract Duration:   12 months renewable subject to funding
  • Duty station:              Kampala is a family duty station
  • Travel:                        10% within Uganda
