JOB DETAIL

Job Summary
To provide broad operational support for the study, including but not limited to the planning, scheduling, and overseeing the conduct of all day-to-day research and contribute to continuous professional development in line with the Baylor-Uganda medical & psychosocial guidelines.

Overall Responsibilities
• Serves as the primary point of liaison between investigators, ancillary institutions, research team, research participants, sponsoring organizations, and relevant regulatory bodies. Develops and revises study and site specific standard operating procedures (SOPs) Conducts study and site-specific trainings for staff
• Oversees the informed consent process
• Ensures the reporting of ALL serious adverse events (SAE) and expedited adverse events (EAE) immediately to the sponsor and IRBs
• Coordinates, plans, and implements the study in accordance with study protocol
• Monitors study activities and assist in preparation of reports to funding agencies and investigators as appropriate
• Plans and prepares for regular monitoring visits
• Assists in the submission of appropriate documents to appropriate IRBs and other regulatory bodies
• Collaborates with investigators, regulatory bodies, and sponsoring organizations to resolve study-related needs
• Reviews study documents and case reporting forms for accuracy and appropriateness as appropriate Completes CRFs and source documents as appropriate
• Provides frequent and precise updates of his/her activities to the Investigators
• Provides orientation n and appropriate training for all newly hired staff
• Conducts “real-time” and “timely” review of 100% of the study source documents
• Liaise with various study staff in correcting issues raised from review
• Assures that tests, examinations, and procedures are properly performed, recorded, and reported Selects, evaluates, and validates various study procedures and forms
• Completes CRFs, source documents and reports as appropriate

Required Qualification, Experience and Competencies:
• A Health-Related degree or equivalent from a recognized institution and must be registered with a professional body,
• At least 2 years working experience in HIV/AIDS research and Vaccine trails,
• At least two years of experience in clinic or hospital-based services. Experience in HIV/AIDS and ART is important.
